Saturdays and Sundays 10-18
From 1 July: from Mondays to Saturdays 10-18
The Masques exhibition at the Cité Miroir features a prestigious selection of items from the collection of the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris, with more than 80 pieces from Asia, the Americas, Africa and Oceania on display side by side for the very first time.
Masks have long symbolised our relationship with the invisible and the supernatural. People cover their faces for many and varied reasons – for rituals, dancing, dispensing justice, waiting for the afterlife, hiding, or harnessing their inner power. It
is a popular, age-old, universal tradition. Come and explore humanity’s extraordinary relationship with the things that haunt us and are beyond our control.
After wowing audiences in Beijing and Tokyo, the exhibition is coming to Liège between 23 March and 20 July.
